Turner Construction is one of the largest general contractors in the United States, and the $1B hyperscale data center campus in Central Ohio is one of its biggest jobs. Turner Columbus brought Unbane in at the outset to build new habits for completing daily logs.
Turner uses Autodesk Forma as its system of record. But creating a daily log directly in the system requires the field team to fill out a long digital form, which is cumbersome without a tablet or computer on hand. So the logs get filled out after the shift, from memory, or not at all. Supers spend more time chasing them than running the jobsite, and critical information handoffs get missed.
The problem
Missing
daily logs
Broken
handoffs
Lost hours
and rework

Turner met the field
where they already
are: on their phone.
The approach
There is no app to download and no login to remember, which is exactly why it takes hold across the field and holds as more trades arrive. Unbane runs Turner's daily reporting over a phone call instead of a keyboard. Every foreman, on every crew, spends about two minutes a day on a short, guided call. They call in at the end of the shift, and if someone forgets, Unbane calls them.
Two minutes covering work completed, crew count and hours, equipment, and any holdups.
Entries populate in real time. The superintendent reviews and signs off instead of transcribing.
The signed report files straight into Turner's Autodesk Forma instance the same day, not days later.
When the whole field calls, the whole field is on the record.
What did your crew get done today?
Pulled conduit in electrical room 3, set panels on level 2.
Any holdups?
Waiting on the switchgear delivery, expected Thursday.
Copy that. I'll route the summary to the usual list.

Each week, Unbane runs the same play for look-aheads, gathering next-week plans from trade partners so leadership walks into planning with a clear picture instead of a guess.
“95% adoption on new construction technology almost never happens.”
Within four weeks, 95% of the field was reporting. Logging dropped from 30 to 45 minutes to under two, and superintendent review from an hour a day to five minutes. The record came in the same day, clean and consistent, and hours went back to running the build.

The takeaway
Turner replaced the end-of-shift form with a call, and within four weeks 95% of the field was reporting. The daily log stopped being a chase and became a byproduct of the work.
